Born in Port Fairy, Victoria, Faye has had a lifelong interest in creative work.  Early in her career path, painting in oils was interspersed with raising a family and other occupations. These included teaching art, design and other aspects of the trade to floristry apprentices at Box Hill College of T.A.F.E. for eleven years till 1994.

She began working intensively with pastel in 1991 and more recently has returned to working with oils, watercolour and mixed media as well.

Faye has participated and demonstrated in a wide variety of art workshops and events including painting tours of some regions in Italy in 2001, Greece in 2002, France 2004, New Zealand 2007, Italy, Central Europe and Thailand 2008, Kimberley and Far North Queensland 2010, New Zealand South Island 2011, Turkey and Greek Islands 2013. She visited Cambodia, Viet Nam in 2015, Canada and USA in 2017 and Hobart and Darwin in 2022.

For 10 years Faye operated her own business in Canterbury creating wedding flower designs and related floral arrangements. This evolved to include pastel portraits of her creations.  She has completed commissions of portraits of people, pets and other subjects, including landscapes.  Her work has been published in Australian Artist & Pastel Artist International. For three years till 2010 Faye worked as one of the artists in residence at the art@wintergarden Studio Gallery in Geelong. She lived and worked in in Torquay Victoria from the end of 2010 till late 2016. She painted there and at a farm studio in Modewarre  participating in various exhibitions and workshops. She then returned to Newtown in Geelong and continued painting and offering some workshops there. In 2017 and 2018 she has conducted classes in pastel and in pen & wash at the National Trust property “The Heights”  and later Barwon Grange in Newtown. Her post pandemic move to Point Lonsdale is enabling some activity with other artists.

She has received many awards and is noted for her versatility of subject matter and style and her ability to work with pastel, oil and watercolour mediums. She has participated in many exhibitions and art shows and has had 12 solo exhibitions including a successful one at the Portarlington Mill in January 2019.

Many of her awards were recognised when she was made a signature member of the PSVA in 2019. Awards received include an Art prize at secondary school and since 1996 20 Best Pastel prizes in various Art Society, Rotary and other exhibitions, 2 best oil prizes and commendations for watercolour painting..

Faye was President of the Pastel Society of Victoria 2000/2001, Committee Member P.S.V. 1996/2002, Committee member Geelong Art Society 2005-.2007.
